I had just bought my BMW R bike when I thought of an old acquaintance that had a BMW himself. I asked him where he got his Beemer serviced and he very strongly recommended Chris Harris at Affordable Beemers. This buddy told me that many of the BMW dealers can be rip-offs and can easily gouge you for service and still do a lousy job. Not so with Chris Harris. He told me of Chris's credentials and his no-bull attitude. What I really like about going to Affordable Beemers is that I can watch Chris do the work and I can ask questions about my bike. Usually I have a list of questions about things and when I go I get all of them answered and pick up many really useful tips too. Try doing this at your big BMW dealer and you probably know what their response will be! I always carry a few of Chris's business cards with me and when I meet a Beemer Buddy on the road I highly recommend Affordable Beemers to anyone who wants unbeatable service at affordable rates.

  I got to know you when you were still working at Second Wind and when I heard you had left and started your own business I followed you instantly.
  You treat customers with respect and make them feel good and comfortable. But that is not the only reason why I changed shops; you are very knowledgeable and do a very good job. Your prices are reasonable and you do what is necessary to be done! Also you always have tips and advice for your customers.
  I have recently moved back to Germany and I miss your excellent service all ready. I wish I could find a shop like yours here in Germany!

Chris is knowledgeable, conscientious, and thorough, and I have never had a problem with any of his work over the years, on my K11 Beemer, nor the ZX9 Kawasaki, etc. He tuned my Suzuki DRZ400E, that the dealer couldn't get to start or run right, and it has run perfectly and started immediately ever since. Chris has serviced eight different bikes I've owned, including BMW singles, twins (air & Oilheads)and triples, KTM and Suzuki. Level of services provided include normal maintenance (tires, brakes, tune up's, oil changes) through top end (valves, pistons, rings)and transmission rebuild, as well as trouble shooting and adding accessories. Chris' work has always been neat, accurate and correct the first time. I trust Chris with my motorcycle life.

Thank you for all the work you put into my bike getting it ready for my June 22 trip. I noticed a picture of my Mandarin R1100S 3/4 completely apart just days before the trip. This reminded me just how much work you had to put into it. Chris has worked extremely hard on my motorcycles in the past but his willingness to work on it nonstop until it was perfect truly impressed me. I jumped on the bike close to midnight then the next day headed out for a 1000 mile trip never worrying about the bike. In fact, a Honda and a Ducati broke down but MY R1100S ran like a BMW should.

For me there is no other place I would take my BMW motorcycles, Chris and ABS has always made sure their work is done and done right. Chris had an employee drop my bike, Chris was more upset then I about it and had the scratched body panel repainted free of charge. He is a person that you can trust, he has always been there for me.

Chris, at ABS has been an over the edge kind of tech, and friend. Not only have we done bike business together, but also many other personal enterprises. I met him when he worked at Second Wind. Chris seemed like the only one there that had any idea of what was going on. So when he made his move to open his own shop, I went along for the ride. Chris has worked on my air heads, oil heads, and also my race outfit. All the time giving good information, advise, and showing me what the problem is and how to fix it. Or I should say " how he fixed it ". He's a good guy, has a nice family, fine business skills, and a pleasure to do business with. I would highly recommend Chris, and ABS for all your BMW needs. Any one out there is free to give  me a call or file off an e-mail for a heart to heart about ABS, or any of the other dealers/owner operators around. I think I have been through them all.

I just returned from a 5,000 mile trip through NY, Ontario, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, WI, MN, ND, SD, WY, CO, NE, IA, IN, IL, OH, PA and back home on a 1990 K75RT with 50K on the odometer. Prior to the trip Chris did over the rear splines, put on new tires, changed fluids and did an overall check. Other than a burned out tail light bulb in Wisconsin, the bike ran fine. His work is first class and he has stood behind it when necessary.
